Ford Reps Kill All Hopes For Fiesta RS

Apparently, the awesome new Focus RS wasn’t enough for the young hatchback enthusiasts out there. No, they wanted more. So just as the since confirmed Focus RS rumors sped through the internet, so did those about a Fiesta RS. Clearly, Ford would build on its current momentum and go all RSing with the Fiesta, no? Well, no, actually.

For those still clinging to hope, here are two quotes that should kill them off for good.

First, there’s Ford Performance Chief Engineer Tyrone Johnson:

“In terms of Fiesta RS, I have seen some comments from senior Ford people that it’s definitely not in the plan. Typically we don’t talk about future products but in that particular one there has been some comments that it’s definitely not in the plan.”

Still not convinced? Let’s take a look at what Ford spokesman Matt Leaver said:

“At this time, there are no plans for it,” he said. Leaver also gave further support to Johnson’s statement by telling us, “if that’s what Tyrone said, it’s likely true.”

So there you go. It’s all over for the Fiesta RS, folks. Can’t we all just agree to be excited about the Focus RS, tho?
