Nascar Makes Call to Lengthen Longest Race of the Year

Just in case you like constant change, Nascar has yet again decided to make a change to a previously decided rule. While maybe not a big deal, the sport has added a fourth stage to Memorial Day weekend’s Coca Cola 600.

This news, on its own, not Earth shattering. But it’s just another in a line of constant changes that fans have never really proven that they want.

Is stage racing exciting? Sure, you can make that argument. But is it exciting enough to be bringing additional fans to the sport – or more importantly – keeping the fans that it already has? Questionable.

So this year, be prepared for one more built-in yellow flag section of what is already Nascar’s longest race of the year. Hmmpf.
