2015 Jeep Renegade Pricing…$18,595?
When the Google machine speaks, people listen. That was the case today when a search of the new Jeep Renegade came up with a price that seemed to come right from Jeep. The buzz quickly went through the automotive community – the Jeep Renegade will be priced starting at $18,595! – or so it seemed. In reality, it looks like it may have been a Google error, if such a thing exists…
According to Jeep, the Google bots pulled in pricing from the Jeep Compass. This makes sense, as the base $18,595 pricing in question is exact for the Compass. Google, in its endless effort to provide every answer instantly, led people astray with an incorrect data pull.
Of course, the conspiracy theorists in the automotive world think this is a cover from Jeep. They insist that this will in fact be the pricing for the new Renegade. But since Jeep didn’t intend for the info to get out yet, the company is throwing the blame on Google.
Believe what you will, but here is why the pricing is important. For all the positive buzz the Renegade has been receiving, the pricing will be the key to how well it sells. It’s biggest competitors in the market, the Kia Soul and Nissan Juke, are priced in a certain range – $14,900 for the Soul and $18,595 for the Juke. If Jeep puts a $20,000 or higher tag on the Renegade, it could scare away customers.
We’ll keep an eye out for the 2015 Jeep Renegade pricing.
What do you think – was this a Google glitch or a Jeep slip?
