GoFundMe Set Up To Help Replace Beloved Mach 1
What happened to putting fireworks in a mailbox? While annoying to the victim, it’s somewhat easy to get over by bolting on a new box. An hour and $30 later, you’re all set. And not that it makes it right, but the perpetrator pretty much knows that it’s not a life-changing event.
This story, on the other hand, is different. Some low-life intentionally put fireworks in the back of a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in Springfield, Mo., creating a massively damaging fire. Oh yeah, and the owner of the car was a 7-year-old with the debilitating Lesch-Nyhan syndrome. And the car had been restored by the boy’s grandfather and gifted to him. According to family, it is the boy’s most prized possession.
As angering as this story is, it has the power to swing your human perception pendulum the other way when you find out a GoFundMe account has already been set up – and has well surpassed its goal.
Hopefully this can help restore not only a classic car – but what was the most important thing to a boy’s life. And if they catch the arsonist, let’s hope they don’t go lightly.
